After military service, Marlon turned to helping others—earning counseling certifications from Johns Hopkins Medical University and guiding individuals through recovery and family planning. He later built businesses in commodity brokerage and innovation development, mentoring inventors to bring their ideas to life.

His first published work, Detonation LA, introduced readers to his gift for high-stakes, human-driven narratives.
